If you are considering hiring a car for all or part of your holiday, or arranging for someone to pick you up / drop you off from the airport, you must be aware that the law in Spain regarding child seats is very similar to that in the UK. Quite simply, if your child requires a child seat/ booster seat in the UK, he/she should have one here. The safety of your child should be paramount and the Spanish are very child friendly and protective towards children.
The police are clamping down and are stopping drivers at random and if you should have a child seat and don’t have one, you could be fined between €150 and €200.
